PHP Developer
Job description
We're looking for a PHP developer responsible for managing back-end services and the exchange of data between the server and our users. Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL and JavaScript is required — and clear thinking-and-coding ability will be given priority over years of experience where needed.
Responsibilities
- Integrate user-facing elements built by front-end developers
- Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
- Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
Skills & qualifications
- Proficient in web application development using core PHP
- Strong knowledge of PHP with MySQL as the RDBMS
- Good experience with front-end technologies — JavaScript/jQuery, Ajax, JSON, HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS3
- Expertise building responsive, dynamic web applications with client/server-side rendering
- Expertise building progressive web applications
- Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming
- Knowledge of third-party API integration
- Good experience with the Apache web server
- Experience with REST APIs and services

Sales Executive — Academic Library Content
Responsibilities
- Visit academic libraries to introduce and promote our collection of journals, books and research content sourced from various publishers
- Build and nurture relationships with librarians and academic staff to understand their content needs
- Work with publishers to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing, keeping offerings competitive and cost-effective
- Develop a solid understanding of our product line, including RFID technology, Koha library management, and DSpace digital repository solutions
- Present and demonstrate RFID, Koha and DSpace to interested libraries, showing how they improve efficiency and user experience
- Track industry trends and academic library needs to proactively spot new business opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, sales activity and customer feedback
- Work with the marketing team on promotional campaigns aimed at academic institutions
- Meet individual and team sales targets within your territory
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (sales, business, etc.)
- 0–2 years in sales or a customer-facing role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with librarians, publishers and internal teams
- Results-oriented, comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with library management systems, digital repositories or academic publishing is a plus
- Willing to travel within the assigned territory for client visits and industry events
- Comfortable with CRM software and standard office tools
